Classroom Motivation and Management Skills

DSU/INTASC Standard #5 -- Candidates use an understanding of individual and group motivation and behavior to create a learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.

NASPE Standard #4 -- The teacher uses an understanding of individual and group motivation and behavior to create a safe learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.  This standard is concerned with preservice teachers' use of a variety of strategies to institute behavior change, manage resources, promote mutual respect and self-responsibility, and motivate students.
