DSU/INTASC Standard # 6 -- Candidates use knowledge of effective verbal, nonverbal, and media communication techniques to foster active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in the classroom.
NASPE Standard #5 -- The physical education teacher uses knowledge of effective verbal, nonverbal, and media communication techniques to foster inquiry, collaboration, and engagement in physical activity settings. Preservice teachers will demonstrate the use of assorted media and technology for presentation of lessons, demonstrate sensitivity to all learners and model appropriate behavior, and illustrate communication strategies for building a community of learners.
